As the summer months roll in, so does concert season — the best time of the year to see your favorite artists in person and experience the harmony of music with your community. Since May has just begun, it’s time to look for the next concert you might want to attend.
On Sunday, May 10, alternative rock group Pearl Jam will be playing at the Moda Center at the Rose Quarter. Most known for their song “Even Flow,” Pearl Jam has around 15 million monthly listeners. This band helped popularize grunge music in the early 1990s and is still going strong since their rise to fame in 1991 with their debut album Ten.
On Monday, May 13, Lizzy McAlpine, indie pop artist, is making an appearance at the Theater Of The Clouds at Moda Center. Her claim to fame is her song “Ceilings”, which became popular on TikTok last year and has since launched her career. McAlpine just released her new album Older and is now going on tour to showcase her most recent work.
On Tuesday, May 28 The Wallflowers will be at the Aladdin Theater. Jakob Dylan, the man behind the band has around 2.3 million monthly listeners and is most known for his song “One Headlight,” something you might hear your dad play on a long car ride as he taps his thumbs on the steering wheel. Hopefully, your father has two working headlights though.
Also on May 28, the Red Hot Chili Peppers will be playing in Ridgefield Washinton, only about 45 minutes from Portland. You might know them for their song “Californication” or “Scar Tissue.” The band is very famous, coming in at 33.9 monthly listeners, so if you haven’t heard their music, then you are living under a rock.
