The Portland Vintage Market is an indoor flea market located at Pioneer Place Mall (340 SW Morrison St) on the second floor. Vendors will be selling clothing, but there are many food options around the mall such as Raising Cane’s and Din Tai Fung. The Portland Vintage Market is the last Saturday of May, June, July, and August (May 25, June 29, July 27, and August 31) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Portland Vintage Market not only hosts events at Pioneer Place Mall but also at other locations like the Portland Community College (PCC) Cascade Campus, which is outdoors. ThriftCon is another vintage market that is perfect for finding yourself the perfect wardrobe. It’s located at the Portland Expo Center from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 21 and Sunday, July 22nd. Keep checking the Expo Center’s website for updates on tickets and parking admission. The Portland Flea is one of Portland’s best flea markets to buy vintage clothing, jewelry, and home goods. They are hosting events on the last weekends of May through Nov., (May 25 and 26, June 29 and 30, July 27 and 28, Aug. 24 and 25, Sept. 28 and 29, Oct. 26 and 27, and Nov. 30 and Dec. 1) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Saturdays, the market is located at the Ecotrust Building in the Pearl (721 NW 9th Ave), and on Sundays, it’s at the Nova Building in West Hawthorne (240 SE Clay St).
One thrift event personal to Ida B. Wells and the PPS School District is the district-wide flea market happening on June 1. It will be held on the IBW track field from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Amarilis Garcia-McMillian, is a sophomore at Ida B. Wells and a vendor at the flea. “I’m really excited because this is the first district-wide thrift event and I think it will be really fun,” said Garcia-McMillian. “Come visit my vintage clothing booth, Second Chance, and please buy something.” Garcia-McMillian will be selling many brands such as Carhartt and Realtree.
