This year has been filled with many cinematic masterpieces and hit albums. Artists and actors such as Taylor Swift, Timothee Chalmet, Beyoncé, Jenna Ortega and Zendaya are just a few of the people who have been a part of this impressive year for pop culture. Though these stars are currently some of the most famous people in the world, a new wave of Hollywood is rising.
These upcoming singers and actors have made waves this year. Chappell Roan ruled the billboard charts with songs like “Hot To Go!,” “Pink Pony Club” and “Good Luck, Babe!” and also won a Grammy for Best New Artist. Drew Starkey stars in the new movie “Queer” while also having a big role in the new “Outer Banks” season. Doechii came out with her new album “Alligator Bites Never Heal,” which she won a grammy for.
Some of these stars have been making music, movies and/or shows for years, but some have just started to take off. For example, Sabrina Carpenter starred on Disney when she was in her teens and came out with her first album “Eyes Wide Open” in 2015. Though she has been making music for years, her album “Emails I Can’t Send,” released in 2022, had a song that was well-known, titled “Because I Liked A Boy.”
Carpenter came out with one of her most popular songs from all of her discography in 2024, “Espresso.” She followed this release with another globally known song, “Please Please Please” a few months later. Her newest album “Short n’ Sweet” was released in August of 2024, going on to win Best Pop Vocal Album in the 2025 Grammys. She is currently on tour, and is scheduled to run until July 4, 2025.
Another big name that has just recently been getting recognition is Mikey Madison. Madison has been acting since she was 14 and has appeared in many films, such as “All Souls,” “Liza, Liza, Skies Are Grey” and some better known movies “Scream VI.” Her most recent project is “Anora,” where she is nominated for “Actress in a Leading Role” for the 2025 Oscars.“Anora” is nominated for “Best Picture” also for the 2025 Oscars.
Roan released her popular album “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess” in September of 2023, but it just gained popularity in 2024. Roan took home the Grammy for “Best New Artist,” followed by a very important speech to the music industry and how they need to take care of their clients healthcare.
Doechii came out with her first album in 2019, titled “Coven Music Session, Vol. 1” followed by popular singles like “What It Is” in 2023 and “Alter Ego” in 2024. Her hit album “Alligator Bites Never Heal” came out in August of 2024 and her most popular song on that album, “DENIAL IS A RIVER” has gotten over 103 million listens on spotify. Following Doechii’s 2025 Grammy win of “Best Rap Album” she released “Nosebleeds”.
These stars have achieved so much this year and their growth is impressive. Fans are very excited to see what is next in their careers.
