Movies to put on your radar this fall
The fall season has officially started and movies to go along with it are being released. Here are some recently released movies, and some to look out for.
September
“The Conjuring: Last Rites” is the final installment of Warner Bros. Pictures’ “The Conjuring” series. It came out on Sept. 5, 2025 and has already has a domestic gross of almost 100 million dollars. “The Conuring: Last Rites” currently stands at a 4.1 out of 5 rating on Rotten Tomatoes. “The Conjuring” is a film series based on real-life paranormal researchers Ed and Loraine Warren and their encounters with hauntings. This is a great movie to watch if you are looking to get into the spooky spirit.
Another movie being released this fall is “One Battle After Another,” starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Teyana Taylor. It is said to be inspired by Thomas Pynchon’s novel, “Vineland.” From Warner Bros. Pictures, the film is about a group of ex-revolutionaries reuniting to save one of the members’ daughters from an evil nemesis. This comedy/adventure movie is set to release on Sept. 26, 2025.
October
“Tron: Ares” is an upcoming sci-fi/action movie directed by Joachim Rønning and distributed by Walt Disney Studios. Releasing on Oct. 10, 2025, it will be the sequel to the 2010 movie “Tron: Legacy,” making it the third film in the “Tron” franchise. It will include stars like Jared Leto and Evan Peters. The film is about humanity discovering the highly sophisticated AI being, Ares, as he participates in a treacherous journey in the real world.
On the spookier side, “Black Phone 2” is the horror/thriller sequel to the 2021 movie “The Black Phone.” Many actors from the first film will be returning for the sequel, such as Mason Ethan Hawke, Madeline McGraw and Mason Thames. After the traumatic events from years prior, siblings Finney and Gwen Blake re-encounter the killer who once tormented them. It will be released on Oct. 17, 2025.
“Regretting You” is a film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s 2019 novel of the same name, from the studios of Paramount Pictures. This romance will star young actors McKenna Grace and Mason Thames. “Regretting You” follows the difficult relationship between a young mother and her teenage daughter while they navigate their lives after a tragic event. This film is set to come out on Oct. 24, 2025.
“Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere” is a new biopic set to hit the theatres at the end of October. From the producers of 20th Century Studios, the movie follows the American singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen on his struggles, rise to fame and the making of his album “Nebraska” in the 1980s. Jeremy Allen White will be playing the role of Bruce Springsteen, joined by his co-star Stephen Graham as Springsteen’s father, Douglas Springsteen.
November
“Wicked: For Good” will be the second and final part of Universal Pictures’ film adaptation of Broadway’s hit musical “Wicked.” The film will pick up right where it left off. Since the two movies were shot back-to-back, Wicked fans can expect to see the same cast for this sequel. Set to come out almost one year after the first movie (released Nov. 22, 2024), “Wicked: For Good” will be released on Nov. 21, 2025.
“Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” will be the third movie in the “Now You See Me” film series, from Lionsgate Studios. The cast will include actors Dave Franco, Morgan Freeman, Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fisher and Ariana Greenblatt. “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” follows a group of illusionists as they bring down well-known criminals. This movie is set to come out on Nov. 14, 2025.
