Another year goes by and the cold weather is right around the corner. The leaves are beginning to change, and our outfits need to fit the weather. It’s finally time to say goodbye to our shorts and hello to pants. T-shirts and being replaced with long sleeves, and sweater-weather is here to stay.
The winter months are perfect for layering clothes, bold colors and caffeine-inspired neutrals. Darker-colored clothing screams fall, so get cozy and grab yourself a pumpkin spice latte.
For boys, Timbs boots are in rotation, and are taking their outfits to another level.
Along with the return of preppy styles such as rugby shirts, XXL sweaters and your favorite denim jorts. Baggy and relaxed jeans are back in style, as well as Sambas shoes.
New trends always come with the changing seasons, so of course, we have a couple of new ones. To start, there has been a rise in the wearing of boots. For girls, tall boots serve as a super cute and cozy shoe to wear in the fall season, and adding tall socks also goes nicely with the boots.
Sweater-weather is here, so of course sweatshirts and cozy sweaters are making their way into Ida B. Wells. A cute new look is an off-the-shoulder sweatshirt. You can find them pre-cut in stores, or do it yourself with some scissors. Sweaters and baggy jeans are always in style for the cold seasons. On another note, pairing a micro jean skirt with a sweater is very in season. Even though it may be getting colder, pairing a skirt with some tights is a delightful fall look.
There are great cozy shoes to wear when it’s cold outside, like Uggs, which are never out of style, but now that it’s fall, you will definitely see more of them. Oversized leg warmers and socks pair with Uggs very well.
Evalene Jeffrey is a senior at IBW and loves the fall season. “My ideal fall fashion [outfit] would be a white sweater, a little baggy and then itty bitty shorts, but with tights underneath, and then like big brown boots,” says Jeffrey. She also wants to follow the baggy top and small bottoms trend
Adeline Karmen, a junior at IBW, has a similar fall fashion look in mind. “For shoes, I’d say Uggs or some type of boot, maybe [with] some colored tights with a denim skirt. I think that’s cute in the fall as it’s getting colder out,” says Karmen.
