Actor Timothée Chalamet, who has starred in various critically acclaimed films such as “Call Me by Your Name “(2017), “Little Women” (2019) and “Dune” (2021), has recently taken over the media for his new film, “Marty Supreme” (2025), as well as involvement in a conspiracy with the UK rapper EsDeeKid.
Timothée Chalamet, born in 1995, has been a well-loved actor since the film “Call Me by Your Name” was released in 2017, where he starred as Italian boy Elio Perlmen. Since then, he has become a culturally significant actor globally.
As of 2026, Timothée has starred in almost 30 movies, most recently “Marty Supreme,” which was loosely based on table tennis legend Marty Reisman, who schemes his way through underworlds to fund his dream of becoming world champion.
Chalamet went on a huge promotional campaign for “Marty Supreme.” He pitched “Marty Supreme” promotion via a big orange blimp designed to look like a giant ping pong ball, and traveled to cities like Los Angeles, El Paso, Midland and New Braunfels. There were also staged pop-up screenings with Chalamet surrounded by bodyguards wearing giant orange ping-pong balls for heads and countless social media posts, including the slogan “Marty Supreme Christmas Day.”
“People’s attention spans are so short these days … How do you convince them to go to the cinema, to spend money to see a film, rather than waiting to stream it illegally, or for it to be available on Netflix?” Jimmy Fallon asked Chalamet during an interview. “I have an audience, so I engage with them, and I give it 150%,” replied Chalamet.
Timothée Chalamet actually won the 2026 Golden Globe for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for his role in “Marty Supreme.” This was his first-ever Golden Globe win after several previous nominations, including his loss for his 2024 Bob Dylan biopic “A Complete Unknown.”
A dedicated actor, Chalamet has gone all out for his roles. For “Marty Supreme,” he spent nearly seven years practicing table tennis. He brought ping pong tables to the sets of his movies “Dune” and “Wonka,” before “Marty Supreme” was even announced, and played in between shooting scenes. “I think the responsibility in this movie, like in the Bob Dylan movie, if you were a Dylan fan or a guitar player, [is to make sure] that looks real to you on screen. Similarly here, if you’re a ping-pong aficionado, that it looks believable to you.” Said Chamalet.
Chalamet learned to sing, play guitar and harmonica, worked on replicating Dylan’s different vocal styles and studying his mannerisms for “A Complete Unknown.” He even performed over 40 songs live on camera for the movie.
Chalamet’s girlfriend of three years, Kylie Jenner, has also sparked the internet’s attention on Chalamet. With article titles like “Inside Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet’s Relationship,” and “Why Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner just make sense,” their recent publicity has only pushed further attention onto Chalamet.
Jenner isn’t the only person the media is talking about when it comes to Chalamet. EsDeeKid, a seemingly overnight sensation, who has never shown his face, done interviews or shared information about himself, can be recognized from his thick Scouse accent. The internet uproar with Esdeekid started once a post on Reddit was shared, pointing out the similarities between the two, even though we had only seen Esdeekid’s eyes in photos at the time.
Over the next three months, this post wasn’t a joke anymore. Chalamet never denied the rumors, even commenting under an Esdeekid’s related post in late 2025, and was seen wearing the same scarf on Saturday Night Live as the rapper. Many think he didn’t deny these rumors because it brought some of the best PR for “Marty Supreme” that Chalamet could ever dream of.
It’s up for debate, but Chalamet decided to either suppress or fuel the rumors by becoming a feature on Esdeekid’s song “4 Raws.” The lyric “Tryna stack a hundred million, girl got a billion” was mentioned, referencing Kylie Jenner’s milestone of youngest self-made billionaire by Forbes at 21.
While the two have just started to become public after years of a rumored on-and-off relationship, we can ask the question, is this just for publicity for Chalamet or did the two finally decide it’s time to show the world themselves as a couple?
As of now, Chalamet is still basking in the popularity that Marty Supreme and EsDeeKid brought him. After the music video came out, theories circulated across social media, with fans analyzing lyrics, visuals, and his sudden genre-crossing presence. His recent movie roles only amplified the attention, keeping him constantly in the public eye. As speculation grew, Chalamet went back to focusing on his acting career, letting the mystery surrounding the collaboration fuel his popularity even further.
