On Jan. 29, 2026, Noah Kahan announced the release of his fourth album, “The Great Divide.” One day after the announcement, he released his single “The Great Divide.”
According to @chartdata on X, “The Great Divide” #1 on the US Spotify chart, amassing a total of 2.935 million streams as of Jan. 31.
He released “The Great Divide” music video on Feb. 1, premiering during a Mastercard commercial break at the 2026 Grammy Awards broadcast.
Born and raised in Strafford, Vermont, Kahan has been making music since he was a kid and on Jan. 27, 2017 he released his first official single titled “Young Blood.” The release of this single introduced him to the world of music, and fans immediately fell in love.
He continued to release many more singles, finally coming out with his debut album “Busyhead” in 2019. The songs “False Confidence” and “Hurt Somebody” quickly became fan favorites, and arguably the most popular on the album.
“I Was / I Am” released in 2021, leaving the song “Someone Like You” as the most streamed song from the album.
His new album comes just four years after “Stick Season,” his most popular album, released in 2022.
He went on to release “Stick Season (We’ll All Be Here Forever)” in 2023, which included six more new songs and an extended version of his song “The View Between Villages”.
He followed up with “Stick Season (Forever)” in 2024, which included one new song titled “Forever” and eight re-recordings of his songs in collaboration with other artists. Which inclcue Hozier, Gracie Abrams, Post Malone and Lizzy McAlpine.
Fans love Noah Kahan for the overall theme of his music, like folk, “granola aesthetic”, and an outdoorsy “New England vibe”. After the journey that Kahan has been on in his singing career, people have continued to support him and look up to him as an inspiration.
Kahan was nominated for Best New Artist at the 2024 Grammy Awards, but ultimately lost to Victoria Monét. He has gone on to win the Billboard Music Award for Top Rock Album for “Stick Season” and the iHeartRadio Music Award for Best New Rock/Alternative Rock Artist.
Noah Kahan has also announced his North American tour for Feb. 2, set to happen in the summer of 2026. Hitting the road with special guest Gigi Perez, they will be going to 22 different stadiums, performing at places like Fenway Park in Boston, T-Mobile Park in Seattle, Chase Field in Phoenix, and Wrigley Field in Chicago, just to name a few.
“The Great Divide” will be released on April 24, 2026.
