Coachella serves as one of the most important fashion events of the year. From influencers to celebrities, to artists and even festival-goers, everyone falls under the watchful eye of the fashion world. But how exactly did the 2026 edition of the Coachella Festival chart on the lists? Let’s take a closer look.
That weekend, the Jenners made a huge impression by attending the festival in all-white outfits, consisting of simple jeans and t-shirts, causing entertainment news outlets to headline them as the “most nonchalant” at the festival. This influenced other celebrities’ outfits as the festival went on, popularizing simpler, more comfortable outfits, setting a standard for all attendees. However, what sparked massive attention was Kylie Jenner’s outfit on the second day. She wore a long, green Justin Bieber tank top, meant to celebrate the star’s return to the mainstage. Their outfits served as a reminder that Coachella is not all about fashion but, at its core, a music festival, where people enjoy music and vibes.
Karol G made history as the first Latina woman to headline Coachella. To celebrate this milestone on stage, the singer closed weekend one in spectacular outfits fusing traditional and modern elements. She wore a fully blue set consisting of a custom corset, boots, a jacket from Etro and a custom skirt made in the colors of the Colombian flag, representing her culture at all times.
Headliner Sabrina Carpenter showed up in a red mini dress that grabbed everyone’s attention. In a full Dior look, the bright color of the dress clashed perfectly with the soft silhouette and her signature blowout, making the star seem as if she was ripped straight out of a cartoon or vintage Hollywood movie. Her performance was dubbed “Sabrinawood,” for her bold stage presence, impressive sets and iconic guests like Will Ferrell.
Bringing nostalgia to the stage, Addison Rae appeared in a Britney Spears-inspired body suit for her first-ever performance. The look paid homage to the early 2000’s, in accordance with her usual style, which struck people’s minds from the beginning, a great way to continue her music career.
Aside from the celebrities, festival-goers highlighted the fun in fashion. Fringes, cowboy boots and maximalist jewelry were at the forefront of this 2026 edition of the festival, with some influencers like James Charles and Deja Clark taking inspiration from the 2016 edition, truly enhancing the “2026 is the new 2016” aesthetic.
However, some outfits worn by celebrities received backlash and sparked debate. Teyana Taylor arrived in an impressive all-metal outfit, looking like she came from the future in a full chain mail body-length dress. While the singer and actress wore sculptural silver sunglasses and metallic accessories, it did not convince everyone. While some argue that Coachella is a fashion scene, excusing her playful and innovative look, others debated that the look was too much and restricted her enjoyment of the festival.
The ex-Scrooge’s main vocalist, Iggy Pop, also made a scene. Showing up in his usual rockstar uniform consisting of black pants, black boots and no shirt, he received backlash due to his appearance.
The festival also marked the return of people’s childhood crush: Justin Bieber. Yet, no matter how excited people were for “Bieberchella”, his outfit disappointed many attendees. He took the stage during weekend two in a red short-sleeved hoodie and black pants. People judged his outfit to be too simple and too outdoorsy to make his performance stand out.
Finally, Akhil Neil “Central Cee” Caesar-Su was heavily criticized for his unassuming look. No matter how much money went into it, with his custom GAP sweater, custom Union Jack shorts, Louis Vuitton accessories, Gucci beanie and Prada shoes, according to The List, Caesar-Su “appeared as if he just went out of a high-end supermarket”.
Overall, this Coachella 2026 edition saw many good and bad outfits, bringing a mix of bold creativity and laid-back fashion on the desert runway.
