“Stranger Things” season five had a controversial and rushed ending. “Stranger Things” is a science fiction drama released in 2016 that quickly gained popularity. In 2025, after the final season was released, fans were more than excited to watch it. They were making speculations about the ending, the unanswered questions, and a plot twist. After people watched a couple of episode’s, there was a lot of hate. People assumed the following last episode would answer all the errors. The last episode led to the defeat of and fight with Vecna.

After everything was released, the media started to backlash, asking questions such as;  happened to Mind Flayer and Demogorgons? Why did the Upside Down stay frozen in 1983 when Will was abducted? Why was Henry Creel featured in high school with Joyce and Hopper when he was abducted by the lab as a child? And those aren’t all of them. The inconsistent mess-ups and errors were so bad fans even began to convince themselves it was all part of a plot twist. `

Then the “One Last Adventure: Stranger Things Season 5” documentary was released, and a lot of things came out about the production of the season. Viewers of the documentary found they had multiple tabs open on ChatGPT, and Reddit. Not to mention, they hadn’t finished writing the scripts while filming.

A ninth-grade student at Ida B. Wells High school, Alice Kimbrough, said she was disappointed about the outcome of the season. She wanted more action, and she thought it ended shortly and too fast. She liked the fan theories better; they made more sense for the show and filled in more plot holes. She thought it was really rushed and not enough mysteries were answered.  

“Stranger Things” season five was rushed and poorly written. The years of preparation, money and effort put into the show were abruptly ended due to a lack of creativity and passion. Fans, companies, and the actors were left disappointed and unamused.
